3 From Hell Review
Cast: Sheri Moon Zombie, Bill Moseley, Richard Brake, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Dee Wallace, Danny Trejo, Sid Haig
Director: Rob Zombie
After the shootout with the police, Otis, Baby and Captain Spaulding are finally apprehended and sent to prison.
10 years later Otis, with the help of half brother Foxy escape from police custody and go on a bloody rampage determined to get Baby released from the joint.
Now reunited Baby, Otis and Foxy decide to head to Mexico to hide out, but there's an unexpected surprise awaiting for them that could be their final standoff.
3 From Hell takes place right after the events from The Devil's Rejects and was really shocking because that shootout should've killed them, but my some miracle they survived and are finally sent away for their bloody, brutal crimes.
I think that The Devil's Rejects had the perfect ending, so we really didn't need a follow-up, but you know what? It worked!
Sheri Moon Zombie and Bill Moseley return as the characters they are famous for, but this time they are joined by Richard Brake, who portrays their half brother Foxy. I was surprised by this new character though, he really belonged in the fold, I wish he somehow could've been included as one of The Devil's Rejects, but better late then never, right?
Sadly, Sid Haig was too sick to fully be in this movie, but I am so gkad that Rob found a way to make sure he was included, even though it was too short. It just wouldn't have been the same without a little Captain Spaulding thrown in.
I am so glad Dee Wallace was in this film, although you might not recognize her right away. It was definitely a different character then what she usually plays, but she nailed. I was also happy that Danny Trejo was included as well, even though it was just for a minute. He's become one of my favorite actors.
There wasn't as much brutality as I thought there was going to be, but none the less, there were still some bloody mayhem, especially during the final act.
I think the only problem I had was that this film(and it's a small one) takes place over 10 years later and yet, still feels like it's in the 70's at times, especially the look of the warden. Dig that mustache, man.
All in all, 3 From Hell was a really good follow-up to what I consider to be Rob Zombie's best film, The Devil's Rejects and should not be missed.
